David McNamee reflects on British triathlon history

Saturday 14th October was a truly historic day for British triathlon.

Already the British record holder for the fastest time at the IRONMAN World Championship, Scotland’s David McNamee totally smashed his time of 8:28:05 from 2016 (where he finished 13th), to have the race of his life. His third place finish was the first podium result for a British Pro male athlete ever in Kona – while his finishing time of 8:07:11 was less than five minutes behind the new course record figures of race winner, Patrick Lange.

Always a class act, even just minutes after the greatest performance of his career, David still had time to pass on get well wishes to Tim Don, who was was unable to start after a bike crash earlier in the week.
