Double Olympic Champion to have hip surgery today

The 2017 racing season of Alistair Brownlee is over. Having not raced since his victory at the World Triathlon Series Leeds in June, on Friday evening the two-time Olympic Champion confirmed that today (Saturday), he would be undergoing surgery to resolve a ‘chronic hip problem’.

It has been a limited (but successful) season so far, with wins at Challenge Gran Canaria, IRONMAN 70.3 St. George and Leeds – with just one misfire/DNF at The Championship in Samorin.

Best wishes to Alistair and lets hope we see him back to full strength in 2018.
