Olympic gold medal winner Jess Learmonth looks to be closing in on a welcome return to racing following a lengthy injury layoff.
The 34-year-old, who set Team GB on their way to that memorable Mixed Team Relay triumph in Tokyo, hasn’t been in action since a hip injury forced her out when she was leading the Arena Games Grand Final in Singapore early last May.
Jess is on Sursee startlist
But writing on Instagram, she posted: “After what was a very tough year, I am back into full training after recovering from my hip injury and looking ahead to returning to racing.
“Recovery going well and starting to push it in the gym and pool and on bike and run! Racing news coming soon!”
It remains to be seen what the racing news proves to be, but her name is among 20 women on the provisional startlist for Super League Triathlon’s Arena Games Sursee in Switzerland on March 12.
That will be the second Arena Games event of 2023, following the opener in Montreal on February 25.
