We are finally counting down to the men’s individual triathlon race at the Olympic Games of Paris 2024 – and what a field we have.

Following Tuesday’s postponement, and after the go ahead a little earlier today the world’s greatest short-course specialists will now line up on Wednesday (1045 local time, 0945 UK, 0445 EST, 0145 PST) with history beckoning as they bid for medal glory in the sport’s biggest dance of all.

Three years ago in Tokyo it was Norway’s Kristian Blummenfelt storming to victory with that lung-bursting sprint which finally saw off the challenges of Alex Yee and Hayden Wilde.

This time it is Yee and Wilde who are favoured to fight for gold, with ‘Big Blu’ looking to once again supercharge those run legs after coming back down from racing at longer distances.

It should be epic entertainment in an iconic setting, and we have a stellar field.

Olympic triathlon predictons – who wins gold?

Our sage expert John Levison has provided the in-depth analysis, and you can access his podium picks and full race preview here.

Why are the Brownlee brothers not racing?

For the first time since 2004, we have an Olympic Games men’s triathlon WITHOUT the Brownlee brothers.

The British swim/bike/run icons have been incredible ambassadors for the sport, but neither will be on the start line in Paris on Tuesday.

Alistair retired from short-course Olympic-distance racing after injury halted his bid to make the British team for Tokyo in 2021, while Jonny missed out agonisingly for Paris selection. You can get the full details by clicking here.
