The sun shone as the sell out Sebamed Brighton and Hove Triathlon took place on Brighton seafront at the weekend, in front of 20,000 spectators.

1200 athletes completed the open water swim, closed-road bike course which finished in front of the iconic beach hut lined promenade. With 40% female entries and 43% first-time triathletes, it was a fantastic advertisement that triathlon is accessible to all.

The youngest competitors at just three years old took part in Saturday’s Frog Bikes Mini’s Race, a scoot/bike/run along Hove promenade, whilst the oldest competitor at 75 completed the Sprint distance triathlon on Sunday.

John Lunt, Event Director, commented: ‘What a fantastic weekend it was! With glorious weather and great support from volunteers, lifeguards and crew, Brighton showed itself to be an excellent place for triathlon. The support was phenomenal and we’re very excited to see how the race grows over the next few years.’

Title Sponsor, Sebamed, had a strong on-site presence over the weekend. They distributed over 23,500 samples and spread brand awareness to an audience of 20,000.

Sebamed’s Marketing Manager, Louise Ball, said: ‘We had a fantastic couple of days in Brighton and it was great to see people as passionate about their fitness as we are about healthy skincare. We supplied thousands of friendly faces with our pH 5.5 skincare starter packs and shower gels, whilst also advising people on suitable products for any skincare concerns. From the weather, to the results of our team competing, it was the perfect weekend!‘
