Triathlon’s most consistent IRONMAN athlete?
The triathlon year for Belgium’s Marino Vanhoenacker started with a DNF at IRONMAN New Zealand, and then a planned start at IRONMAN Lanzarote ended before it started following a bike crash and broken bones.
However, Marino is a man who is driven to win and at IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant he added is 16th career IRONMAN title to his C.V. He has now won at least one IRONMAN in 12 of the last 13 seasons.
In typical style, Marino crushed everyone on the bike via a 4:26:56 bike split – to which he added the only Sub-3 marathon of the day too.
Do what I do best, hit it hard from the start, another huge solo made me a 16 x Ironman Champion now @TopsportBelDef @pewagracingteam pic.twitter.com/7hdAIRsyFH
