Important information on COVID-19 – updated Tuesday 24 March

Just a week after suspending all triathlon activity until the end of April, the fast moving impact of COVID-19 has today seen that extended by a further two months until, at least, 30th June 2020.

This applies to the activity of British Triathlon, Triathlon England, Triathlon Scotland, Welsh Triathlon and the Triathlon Trust.

We have not taken this decision lightly but in light of the rapidly changing situation, we feel it is essential to extend the period of suspension. The most recent instruction from the government is to stay at home for the coming weeks and even after that period, we expect to have a period of continued restriction of movement and activity. We therefore feel that it is our duty to take these steps to help protect the health and wellbeing of athletes, officials, coaches, volunteers and spectators and to alleviate the risk of an additional burden on the emergency services at a hugely testing time.
