The details are a little garbled but a report on the TBB website details (quite amusingly) the events on yesterday's Alpe d'Huez long course event which saw third place go to Stephen Bayliss and first woman's place go to Chrissie Wellington (she was tenth overall). Sounds like she goes up hills an awful lot faster than she comes down!!! The event, which used to be a staple part of the French Iron Tour back in the 90s, was revived a couple of years ago and has its own website (www.alpetriathlon.com). There's also a standard distance race there today but we have no idea who's in it as the site is a little short on detail...
