European Champion! 😱 What a day, I don’t think I’ve ever raced in such heat 🥵 Yesterday was the @european.triathlon.union Middle Distance Triathlon Championships in Targu Mures in Romania. It was that warm it was a non wetsuit swim which was a first for me in racing. I had an ok swim and then moved onto my favourite part, the bike 🤗 I loved the technical course and managed to secure the fastest female non elite bike leg of the day. I came off the bike in second place and then had to dig in for the run in 30 degree heat and managed to take first place and my first ever gold medal 🥇 As always it was a proud day for me to represent my country and I’ve loved my time in Romania 🇷🇴 It was a pleasure to race with friends and see them on the podium too 🙌🏻 📷 @matt_naylor1973 @leaball_ #triathlon #triathlontraining #triathlete #triathletes #triathletesofinsta #triathletesofig #swimbikerun #everydayistrainingday #trilife #run #running #runnersofinstagram #runnersofig #triathletelifestyle #triathletelife #thisgirlcan #iracelikeagirl #teamgbtriathlon #runninggirl #strongnotskinny

Gold medal Monday😀Have had a fantastic time in Romania, seen beautiful scenery, enjoyed the friendliness of the people, basked in very warm weather and cranked out a race I’m proud of. Pressure was on to follow @MeganPowell1708 and @HughHarr1s onto the podium. The race was all about pace management on a very hot day. The non-wetsuit swim was followed by an up and down, twisty turny bike course that took concentration, patience and strong legs. Lost my gel bottle early on so got round on flapjack and Tangfastics. Run was a head boiler, laps in a little village, we had great support and the organisers had plenty of water and sponges available. Stopped at every aid station to drink and douse myself with water and got round reasonably well. Delighted with the AG win and 4th AG lady overall. Huge thanks @andybtricoach @Walnut_Grove @bike_science @kimingleby @TeamFKPro @MeganPowell1708 @alltheteawithnoz @BADTri1 and our @BritTri team manager for finding order amongst almost chaos.
