Stirling based family business, You Can Sport is inviting businesses to #takethechallenge and be part of the first You Can Sport Corporate Challenge Cup, on Saturday 13 July 2019.
The You Can Sport Corporate Challenge Cup is a new workplace wellbeing triathlon challenge and will take place at the Monifieth Triathlon Club Triathlon Festival this summer in Dundee.
Businesses, their staff and clients will take part in an exciting new double swim-bike-run race format designed to create excitement, encourage tactical decisions and offer a whole lot of fun for teams of three people.
The event is short, and the course will consist of an open water swim (300m), a cycle (5000m), and run (1250m), completed twice. The challenge for teams is to not only to cover the distance, but to choose the order of competitors for the best advantage, before completing the triathlon course twice. Each team must also include a female participant.
As well as vying for the top spot, entrants in the Corporate Challenge Cup will be supporting the Triathlon Trust (the official charity of British Triathlon) to help achieve their mission of ‘changing lives through Triathlon’. Teams will also be encouraged to further fundraise for the Triathlon Trust, or a charity of their choice.
Corporate Challenge Cup Sponsors, You Can Sport, are a family business committed to creating happier, healthier lifestyles, and workforces through sport. Key services are corporate wellness initiatives, and individual training plans.
You Can Sport co-founder Craig Coull said:
“We are delighted to support the Corporate Challenge Cup to help encourage businesses to consider what their workplace wellbeing offering is, and to provide a fantastic opportunity for staff to train together and race to complete the double swim-bike-run challenge.
“To take part, organisations can be of any size, and beginners to the sport are encouraged, because the distances are short and the race achievable with just a small amount of training. For any businesses looking to support their employees further, bespoke training plans can be created.”
Gemma Simpson, Triathlon Scotland’s Events & Marketing Manager said:
“We are pleased to be able to launch the Corporate Cup in 2019 thanks to Monifieth Triathlon Club offering race space alongside our Mixed Team Relay Scottish National Championship event at the M3 Triathlon Festival.
“The weekend has races for all of the family on Saturday, and for those who want to make the Corporate Challenge Cup extra special, it is possible to compete again on Sunday in the Sprint distance triathlon event (a 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run)”
