This is a rerun of our live blog on how the women’s triathlon unfolded at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games – you can click here for a full report on how Flora Duffy of Bermuda claimed a famous victory.

The women’s Olympic Games triathlon at Tokyo takes place early Tuesday in Tokyo (2245 BST Monday in the UK) and you can follow every second of it live in our special blog from TRI247 guru John Levison.

Who will win the Olympic triathlon?

Just like the men’s race, this is a fascinating contest with a number of possible winners.

Katie Zaferes is currently favourite in the odds to win gold but she has endured a trouble 2021 so far.

Can Flora Duffy hand Bermuda its first Olympic gold medal? There has to be a pretty good chance.

Great Britain send three athletes into battle – Jess Learmonth, Georgia Taylor-Brown and Vicky Holland – and all have definite medal chances.

It would also be crazy to rule out the chances of veteran Olympian Nicola Spirig – back again to bid for more glory. She appears to be in fine form yet again heading into the biggest show on earth.

Our expert John Levison has analysed all the major contenders (and some live outsiders) and come up with his selections for medals. We have also polled a panel of experts to get their verdicts on the big race.
